Well, hey there! Thank you for joining me. This seems difficult…the FIRST blog post. How to start it all off? Kinda feels like those first few moments of first date when you’re awkwardly trying to strike up conversation…..so, I guess I shall simply start by saying…hey, ya’ll!
Now that that part is over, I guess I should give you a little insight as to who I am and why I decided to write a blog. My name is Erin. I am wife to the husband and mama to the child and the four legged fur child. I am a believer in Jesus and try my best, despite failing each day, to serve Him in all ways. I have a passion for helping people–like when people ask you “oh what do you want to do with your life” my answer has somewhat always been “I dunno; I just really want to help people”–luckily enough I have found fitness and nutrition as a means of fulfilling two passions: fitness and helping. I have been teaching group fitness classes since 2012 and have been able to be under the guidance of some amazing women who I am lucky enough to call friend. I am also a certified sports nutritionist and through this I have learned some really incredible things about the bodies we live in AND the tenacity people contain to achieve a goal. Wow, that kinda sounded like I was interviewing for a job…
I love to laugh and will always go for the humor in any situation if I can find it. Being serious has a time and a place; but, if there is an opportunity to be silly and/or goofy then I say let’s go for it. I used to say that the only lines I would be okay with having on my face would be laugh lines. However, they’re now arriving and while it is an indicator that I have laughed and smiled often, the jury is still out on whether or not we truly enjoy their new found residence. I fiercely love my family and friends. I truly have been blessed with some incredible people who, despite not sharing the same DNA, are and forever will be part of my family and I love them more than they may even know. (Audience collectively goes….awwwwww…sorry, we just got really serious for a moment and we needed to lighten things up; this is, after all, only the introduction.)
What can you expect to find on this blog? I have three main areas of my life that take center stage: Faith, Family, & Fitness. The content you can expect to find will be focused around those three main subjects. Each week will vary, not only in subject matter but also in frequency–but always at least one post each week. I am optimistic that I will become tech savvy enough to provide challenging workout (with demo video attachments–insert shocked emoji face here) and healthy recipe ideas to help you along your journey to being the best you possible.
You can also expect grammatical errors (to the chagrin of my high school AP English teacher); run on sentences, humor, lighthearted content along with the possibility of being challenged from time to time; but most importantly, authenticity. I am not and never have been a “do as I say, not as I do” type of gal. Lead by example, in all areas, to the best of our abilities. So, that is what I strive to do–lead by example; and you know what, I fail…often. However, all we can ask of ourselves is to try our very best each day.
